Nice Things Other People Have Said About Emporium:

“Best Arcade Bars in Chicago #1 – Emporium Arcade Bar. Chicago’s first arcade bar is still one of the best, with classic offerings like NBA Jam, Mortal Kombat and Q*Bert. The bar serves 24 draft beers, and customers are welcome to bring in food from area restaurants. Emporium’s narrow layout can get cramped at night, but if you show up in the daytime you’ll blow through a handful of tokens in no time.”

and…

“Best Arcade Bars in Chicago #2 – Emporium Arcade Bar Logan Square. Emporium’s Logan Square outpost puts an emphasis on table games like pool, air hockey and shuffleboard—truly old-school stuff. All of the beer comes in cans and bottles, but there’s plenty to choose from, including local and regional favorites. Plus, there’s a “food truck” permanently parked in the space that is usually serving fare from one of the city’s many mobile eateries.”

“The key characteristic separating this location from other bars in the area is undoubtedly its impressive array of arcade games which contribute to an overall excellent hybrid atmosphere wherein one is able to charge tokens to their bar tab. Boasting a superb fleet of pinball machines amidst a collection of other classic games, this location also features variety within its drink selection as its menu contains a cornucopia of beers and over 60 Whiskeys to try.”

“Two brothers are behind this play station… offering over two dozen arcade games, multiple pool, air hockey and foosball tables, plus pinball machines and shuffle bowlers; Over 100 bottle and can beers are available alongside food truck eats in the spacious, industrial setting with bar and picnic table seating.”
— The Zagat Review

“Emporium makes you nostalgic for traditional arcades you used to find at your local shopping mall… The bartenders here are knowledgeable about the beer selection, including which ones are locally produced. The beer menu changes regularly according to the season and availability, which is a good incentive to return and experiment with something new. There is an extensive list of whisky and bourbon, and if you’re hungry, the bar is BYOF (bring your own food).

“The phenomenon of the barcade has been on the rise in cities across the United States over the past few years, and it’s as more and more pop up it’s a wonder no one thought of this before! For a generation that grew up playing arcade games and pinball and now has embraced the diversifying of the craft beer market, what could be a better combination? Emporium’s Wicker Park location (they also have one in Logan Square that focuses less on arcade games) has more than twenty craft beers on tap, as well as a great selection of stand alone games and pinball machines.”
